It is with great sadness that we announce that professor Gerold Stanek passed away after a short illness on the 4th of November 2022. He was the expert on tick-borne diseases and especially borreliosis. Additionally, he was the driving force behind numerous tick and especially borrelial research initiatives. The tick community has lost a great member who will be missed dearly.
